For access to the second-level Master's Degree course, candidates must hold an MSc academic degree (second cycle (master) degree, a postgraduate degree or 5-year/6-year postgraduate degree, laureaspecialistica/laurea magistrale) in accordance with the new Italian university system (pursuant to Ministerial Decree 509/99 or Ministerial Decree 270/04) or an equivalent university qualification obtained abroad, in one of the following fields:

Candidates have also to possess specific knowledge in the topics listed in the Syllabus below, which will be assessed during the admission interview.

• Human nutrition: basics of food composition, nutrients and related needs. General knowledge of metabolism, dysmetabolism and energy balance. Physiopathological and basic clinical aspects of obesity and dysmetabolic diseases.
• General and food microbiology: basic knowledge on the role of the microorganisms in the food transformation and preservation.
• Food technology: basic knowledge on the unit operations in food processing and transformation of raw materials from plant and animal origin.
• Food chemistry: basic knowledge on the food chemistry and analytical techniques, considering also consumer protection.

For admission to the Master's course, a B2 level or higher of English language knowledge, in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), is required.

• TOEFL internet based (at least 90 points)
• IELTS at least 6,5 (at least 5,5 in written production, oral production, listening comprehension and reading comprehension)
• Bachelor or Master diploma from a curriculum studied entirely in English as medium of instruction - only for programmes studied at recognized institutions in the following countries: all countries within the EU or Switzerland; Australia, Canada, New Zealand, USA; Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Jamaica, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, Belize, Guyana.

Alternative documentation for a B2 level of English or higher may be considered by the admissions committee on a case-by-case basis.

ADMISSION OF FOREIGN STUDENTS

For Italian or foreign students (EU citizen or non-EU citizen) in possession of foreign academic qualifications that have not already been declared equivalent to an Italian degree, and for the purposes of admission to the Master's degree, the Scientific Committee will evaluate the qualification and its eligibility, in compliance with applicable international agreements.

ADMISSION OF FOREIGN STUDENTS - RESERVED POSITION

A reserved position is available for a foreign candidate whit African citizenship (non-EU citizen residing in Africa). The specific motivations inspiring the creation of this additional position are related to the aim of fostering the economic and social empowerment and the growth entrepreneurship in Africa, in line with the general principle under which Mr. Michele Ferrero established his “Social Enterprises”. The achievement of emancipation in Africa also lies in the possibility of accessing equal levels of education and consequently achieving and guaranteeing equal levels of freedom.

To meet this objective, in addition to the admission requirements listed above, the selected candidate from Africa must express their willingness to return to their African city, to implement the knowledge.

ADMISSION OF AUDITOR STUDENTS
Participants who have the requisites for the Master's Degree interested in further study of the subjects dealt with in the lectures, and wish to improve their professional preparation, may be admitted as auditor students (non-examination students) to participate in Master's Degree lectures. Auditor students will not be allowed to take part to the industry training. At the end of the course, auditor students will receive a certificate of attendance signed by the Director of the Master's Degree. Also the auditor students, as regulated by the Tax and Contribution Regulations of the University of Turin, will pay a tuition fee.
