ADMISSIONE APLLICATION TO THE SELECTION
12 students will be admitted to the Master’s degree. The course will not be held if the number of enrollees is less than 8. A further reserve of 4 places will be kept for auditor students.
The admissions application form (Template A) can be downloaded from the the link below or obtained at the Master’s Degree Office, and must be sent no later than 1 p.m. on Friday 12 August 2016, at the following address:

Applications received after the above deadline will not be processed.
Italian and foreign citizens (nationals of EU and non-EU countries) who have an academic qualification awarded abroad must submit the following documentation together with their application:
(a) photocopy of a valid identity document, legible and duly signed;
(b) curriculum vitae with details of all academic qualifications;
(c) original academic qualification awarded by a University;
(d) original study plan of University courses (with marks and credits or hours of education), or Diploma Supplement. The statement must declare the number of years of attendance before the degree;
(e) any other title that the candidate intends to present (certificates, publications, etc.), which to be certified as true copies of the original.
The documents referred to in subparagraphs (c) and (d) must be provided with certified translation in Italian (translation is not needed if this documents are issued in English), plus a declaration of equal value (“Dichiarazione di valore”) issued by the Italian Embassy/Consulate in the Country where the title was gained (with the exception of the Diploma Supplement). These documents will be transmitted to the International students and translations office in order to obtain the adequacy evaluation of foreign academic qualification.
If candidates are not able to deliver the “Declaration of value” within the application deadline, they have to fill in the “Template C - Template C fillable” of this announcement. Subsequently, they will have to submit the required documents upon enrolment. In that way, the Academic Board determines the educational equivalence of the foreign degree.
The candidates admitted to the Master’s Degree who are not in possession of all the documentation required, will be enrolled “with reserve”. They will have to submit the required documents at least one month before the end of the course (which is identified with the first session of the final exam). If they do not, only a certificate of attendance as an auditor student will be issued.
Non-EU citizens residing abroad must present their application for admission to the Master’s Degree together with their academic qualification(s), to the Italian Diplomatic representatives who will forward it to the University of Turin – DISAFA – ULF Microbiologia agraria e Tecnologie alimentari – Largo Paolo Braccini, 2 – 10095 Grugliasco (TO) - ITALY, within the terms envisaged by the call for admission to the Master’s Degree.
For all documentation not appended as an original, Italian and foreign candidates residing in Italy must attach a sworn statement, pursuant to article 47 of Presidential Decree of 28th December 2000 no. 445 (Template D - Teplate D fillable).
ADMISSION TEST AND RATING
The Master is a degree course with a restricted number of places, therefore, for the admission to the selections it is absolutely necessary also the online pre-enrolment (enrolment on competition – Enrolment on specialization masters and courses).
In order to matriculate for the admission test candidates should:
- be registered to the Portal of the University of Turin (www.unito.it) and have the credentials (username and password) to access the sign-up process. If candidates have never been students at University of Turin (UniTO), they must register at University Portal following the link Portal registration form to get personal access credentials (username and password) useful for the authentication in MyUniTO, where they can find the procedure to pre-enrolment for the admission test for courses with a restricted number of places. Before starting, we recommend to read carefully Portal registration instructions;
- submit the application for the competition in the online mode. For the submission of the online application candidates need to log at the University Portal (selecting the item “Login” on the home page) and do authentication with credentials (username and password). After authenticating, select the item “Iscrizioni”, which candidates can find in the upper left menu and afterwards the item “Test di ammissione” to go on with the on-line application form;
- pay the contribution provided for the admission test by the module issued by the on-line procedure and keep the receipt in order to show it, during the recognition phase, the day of the admission test.
Candidates eligible for admission to the Master will be rated according to their academic achievements and an examination. Candidates will have to sit a test (multiple choice in English) to ascertain their basic knowledge of chemistry and biology, followed by an aptitude interview during which their English language skills will be assessed. For the admission to the interview, the candidates must to pass the written test with a minimum score of 18/30. The interview will be enriched by an assessment session intended to evaluate transversal skills and personal characteristics of candidates and to highlight the strengths and weaknesses respect to the requested profile.
The entrance examination will be held from Monday, September 26, 2016 in Lecture Hall Magna of the DISAFA, Largo Paolo Braccini, 2 – Grugliasco (TO), starting at 10.00 a.m..
At the end of the selection process, candidates will be rated according to the overall result obtained by those admitted, in decreasing order. In case of same score, candidates possessing the academic qualifications required for admission to the Master at the time of selection (graduated candidates) will be selected. For the admission to the Master the candidates, up to a maximum of 12, must achieve a minimum score of 80/100. The Master's Degree will not be run if the number of candidates that fulfil this requirement is less than 8 (eight).
For the admission to the selection, candidates should send the application form (Template A) and all documents requested, and also complete the online procedure to pre-enrolment for the admission test. The two enrolment procedures are complementary, the lack of one of the two will result in exclusion from the selection.
Candidates who do not include all the information requested in the application will be excluded from the selection process.
Concurrent enrolment of candidates in other university-level courses is not permitted.
